SMP - Service Charger
Versatile service charger that can give new life to old batteries!
The SMP was developed with the need of an efficient, small and light power supply in mind. It is equipped with displays for voltage (V) and current (A). The rubber-covered edges make it very robust and both protect against impact and allow the power supply to glide on surfaces.Voltage and current are easily adjusted with the two individual potentiometers on the front panel. The two digital displays indicate voltage and current under load. Pressing the “SET” button shows the values set.
A microprocessor controls power supply and ensures cooling of the charger. A cooling fan starts when necessary and protects against overheating. The fan is speed-controlled for dependable operation at a low sound level.
The power supply’s outlet is protected against short-circuiting and polarity errors. If more current is needed, a second unit (non-settable) can be connected in parallel. The power supply is fitted with a lighted mains power breaker and a power cord for connection to both grounded and non-grounded sockets. Areas of use The SMP can be used in a battery workshop to remove lead sulphate from batteries that have been deep-charged or that have not been charged in a long time.
Thanks to the low weight (1.5 kg) and small dimensions, it can well be used in service shops and by service technicians who work with batteries, chargers and fork lift trucks. It is also very useful in school laboratories.
